Air War Over Spain

$40.5 $54.68
Description This book covers the Spanish Civil War, fought from 1936 to 1939 between leftist loyalists and right-wing rebels. Often called the dress rehearsal for WWII, the Spanish Civil War saw both sides equipped with aircraft and other weapons by future belligerents in the Second World War. Some of these aircraft were state of the art (some, not so much), such as the German Ju87 dive-bomber provided to the rebels and the I-16 fighter sent to the loyalists by the USSR. This book discusses the state of aviation prior to the civil war and how the division effected the loyalties of air units. The book is lavishly illustrated with photographs and artwork and includes information on notable airmen. Author: Rafael A. Purmuy Lopez Softcover, large format, 96 pages, English
