Description of the Product This is not your average dice game. In Dice of Chaos – Viking Bluff Game, you’ll need to read your opponents’ faces just as carefully as the dice themselves. Luck, wit, and nerve decide who will be the last Viking standing. The two dice included in the set are faithful replicas of archaeological finds over a thousand years old. Viking dice were not perfect cubes but elongated rectangular shapes, with the numbers 1 and 2 placed at the narrow ends. That design made those results less likely to appear. Dice like these have been uncovered across a wide area – from Scandinavia and England to the Baltic coasts and beyond, following the routes where Vikings sailed, traded, raided, and settled. In Viking society, dice were used both for entertainment and for more serious purposes. They were part of games, but also tools of divination: rolls could be seen as signs from the gods, hints of fate whispered through bone and chance. The rules of this game are inspired by an old Northern European bluffing game known under many names: Mia, Meier, Meyer, Mäxchen, or Mexico. Since Viking dice made rolls of 1 and 2 rare – and these values are central in Mia-type games – it is very likely that a game much like this was played during the Viking Age, whether in the glow of a longhouse fire on a winter’s night, or aboard a ship rocking on its way to unknown shores. With the game you receive: 2 custom-made bone dice (faithful historical replicas from the Viking Age) A wooden dice cup with lid, carved with a Viking-era knotwork dragon Rules in English and Finnish, including several game variants Players: 3 minimum, best with 4–6, maximum 8 Manufacturer: Karhunhammas – Beartooth Whether you are a history enthusiast, a board game lover, or simply eager to test your friends’ bluffing skills, this game brings a touch of Viking spirit to your game night.
